Celebrating the life of
Kay Annelle Boatwright Craven
Passed away on December 22, 2018
Kay Annelle Boatwright Craven, 72, died December 22, 2018 at Memorial Health University Medical Center.
Born on October 3, 1946 in Mullins, SC, she was the daughter of the late Ann F. Boatwright and the late Howard B. Boatwright, Sr. She graduated from both Marion High School and Palmer Business College in Charleston. Upon getting married, she moved to Charlotte, NC and later to Savannah in 1973 where she lived since. She worked for nearly two decades as an executive secretary in the field of construction for various companies in SC, NC, and GA. After the birth of her son, she became a homemaker and made many memories volunteering at school and church as well as being a Den Mother for Cub Scouts. She thoroughly enjoyed attending sporting events, going on excursions with her family, playing the piano, and listening to good music—especially gospel and beach.
She is survived by her husband of forty-nine years, Franklin A. Craven, of Savannah, GA; a son and daughter-in-law, Kyle and Lacey Craven, of Richmond Hill, GA; her grandchildren, Liza Craven and Coleman Craven, of Richmond Hill, GA; and a brother and sister-in-law, Howard “Bo” and Anna Boatwright, of Marion, SC; nieces and other extended family as well as her beloved dog, Scholtzie.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will take place on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at 5 PM at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel. The family will receive friends directly following the service.
The family suggests that memorials be made to Montgomery Presbyterian Church, 10192 Ferguson Ave, Savannah, GA 31406.
Frank and family: Sending you my deepest sympathy at this difficult time. I remember you and precious Kay from our high school days, Fond memories. Tootie

May God provide what the friends and family of Mrs. Craven need during this difficult time, and may they find comfort in the Bible's promises that soon, "all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out" (John 5:28, 29), and that "[God] will wipe out every tear from [our] eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore." (Revelation 21:3, 4). In fact, God 'will swallow up death forever, and He will wipe away the tears from all faces...for He himself has spoken it.' (Isaiah 25:8) We can also rest assured that, "the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our trials" will help us endure until he brings about these promises. (2 Corinthians 1:3, 4)

So very sorry for the loss of your loved one. In a time like this we all need comfort, in the Bible at 2 Corinthians 1:3, 4 it speaks of “the God of all comfort.” “To comfort” means to soothe someone who is in distress or who is sorrowing. This is done by easing their misery or grief and bringing them consolation. All Mighty God certainly does this. Pray to God for that comfort.
- Marie, ,
